Last week, we hosted a two-day Research Data Management (RDM) workshop for the doctoral researchers of the COIN graduate program.
The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of research data management along the data lifecycle and explored copolymer-specific aspects of handling research data. It also introduced the RDM infrastructures and guidelines of the participating universities – the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the University of Bayreuth. Furthermore, the workshop demonstrates how the electronic lab notebook eLabFTW can be used as a central data management tool for documenting experiments, as well as how to export data from a Jupyter Notebook via an API interface.
Workshops like this are an important aspect in strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration within the COIN and in improving the data management skills. More training opportunities are planned to further expand competencies and foster exchange across the disciplines.
